FLOODLIGHT REFLECTION

Full moon, suspended
Dangling, florescent,
golden ball, I worship thee,
viewed in your entirety
You're like my loves
Scintillating,
while they last.

Wanting a love to endure
not wax and wane like moons
Disillusioned
by desires
for love to burn eternal.

My love and I bathing in
the golden glow of moonbeam
cast upon us like a floodlight
Lie in her circle of luminesque
our bodies still and in repose
naked, arms and legs intertwined.

Motionless bodies captured
in a circle of stagelight
like a fawn caught in flight and
suddenly stilled at twilight

one leg lifted,
ears cocked
lithe body poised
frozen,
like a still life.

Floodlight reflection
cool
hot

  1. I love this poem Joy it reminds me just a little of one I wrote a few months ago called "watery depths"... reflections based on the Moon Tarot card.
But I like yours better. Mine focuses on the influence of the moon on water and emotion, yours deals with gentle depth of passion and love.. it has a soft feel to it.

  3. As our dear Lenny sings, "on a bed where the moon has been sweating, in a cry filled with footsteps and sand..."

Ah yes, scintillating while they last.

While they last. There's the crux.

    Deer imagery supreme.

  4. That's a picture-perfect state to be suspended in with your lover. Well painted by you.

The fawn imagery was nice, indeed and so was the image of 'cocked ears, lithe body...'.

  5. what a great combination, the poem and the superb photo... I can see how you wrote that all inspired. Purely magical and unbridled, pretty much like the subject. Lovely poem!

  6. I love full moons. I can't comment on your poem because, even though I am married to a poet, I don't always understand them. But I like to thank you for the visit.
